Integrated Rack?

We are just back from a 1800 mile tour from Wyoming back to Ohio. And as is the case when riding behind my wife for long stretches my mind comes up with all sorts of ideas!
So her touring creme is in need of refinishing soooo my thoughts during this particular stretch in Nebraska was" What about an integrated rear rack for her panniers"? Have Tubus racks currently but as I said "long miles" of cows , sagebrush and coyotes cause me to wonder!
Thoughts?
Thanks!

It makes a lot of sense. I can't see paint lasting well on a rack but could use stainless and just paint the ends of it where it's attached to the frame (which I would do with TIG silicon bronze).

I would be curious to know what a tout terrain owner thought of those racks. I never thought integrated racks were a good idea, but I have no experience.

I've only made one bike with a brazed onto the frame rack. Many years ago. Worked on many bikes at the LBS that had such too. My opinion on them has shifted to not so good. A cool statement but doesn't improve much of anything at the cost of massively less options if something does go wrong. Sure makes shipping a frame for paint or a bike to a distant tour start a pain.
