How long to wait after welding 7005 aluminum
I’ve just had a brake tab welded onto a 7005 aluminum Marin hard-tail frame.
Without an oven for artificial aging, how long should I let it age at room temperature before I should consider riding.

I don't know this but I suspect somewhere in a material sheet or spec there's some indication. I have been told that the many weeks/months that are between the frame being welded and the bike being sold in a LBS are put to good use as the aging period. And IIRC 7000 series Al will age "forever" although the aging slows down after some period. Andy

I guess it might be advisable to contact Nova or Bike Fab Supply where I bought the brake tab unless anyone can provide real world experience on this

I let my 7005 gravel bike frame age for 6 weeks before building it up and riding it. I've been riding it for over a year with no problems. I wouldn't worry as much about a brake tab.
I have a document that shows the strength regained over time, but I can't find it right now. If I remember correctly, a significant amount of strength was regained after about 15 days and gradually increased to about 90% at 45 days.

Thanks.
That’s what I was hoping to hear.
Bit of snow and ice on the ground now so I’m not riding, but it will probably be about 6 weeks before I get around to finishing paint.
Then it should be ready for the February rain😕
If you find that data sheet I would be very interested in seeing it as that is just the sort of thing I’ve been looking for.
