Fork Practice?

I would like to become more comfortable building Forks. The 2 that I have made were with Doug Fattic's guidance.
So here is my idea. Obtain a number of firk crowns and steerer tubes and fork blades. Braze and the "surgically" cut them apart to check the quality of the braze. I could use sections of the fork.
Thoughts or advice would be great! Also if anyone has crowns that are taking up space let me know!
Thanks!

Tom- I have some 1" crowns and a couple 1" steerers I've offered up for sale before. I might have a few odd blades that could be used for practice but not to ride on.

A thought- one steerer could serve a few practice crown brazings, just cut the steerer off the crown right above the race seat and the next practice will only be a couple inches shorter. So to with a blade, once brazed into the crown if there's an inch or more of straight section remaining that will serve as another practice piece. For brazing practice little jigging would be needed.

Let me know if any of this interests you and I'll collect my stuff and get back to you. Andy
