How did you start?

I'm interested hearing details on how builders here got their start, both amateur and professional.

What gave you the itch to build your first frame?

What pitfalls did you encounter the first time?

What hard-earned advice would you give to newbies?

For the pros, what convinced you that this should become your livelihood?

a while (she posted over on CR when she first started).
