Titanium forks (for a road bike)?
OK, I'm thinking of procuring a titanium audax machine, for occasional loaded touring too. Given the head angle (72 degrees), I need some forks with a reasonable amount of rake. I've read various opinions on the pros and cons of titanium as a metal for forks. Questions: if money is not object ... (a) can a decent set of (custom) forks be made from ti ... (b) can a superior (to other materials) set of fork be made from ti ...and (c) which builders would you recommend?

What would make it "superior"? what kind of properties and numerical targets? What kind of performance results would you get? How would you measure that in order to determine if you've reached your goal?

Ti will give more flex and be stronger than steel it also won't rust, but then you knew that so what are you asking? If money were not part of the equation I think I would try a Ti fork. Keep us posted.
