Bending handlebars?

I know this a frame building forum, but I figure there is more experice would tube bending here.

I wanted to know if I could bend my Nitto Randonneurs without weakening them. I basically want a bar like the Salsa woodchipper, but in silver.

Thanks

no, you can't. Get some Salsa woodchippers, remove the anodizing and polish them.

Thanks for the reply. I've read elsewhere that removing the anodizing can weaken the metal.

If the bars are steel, then you could likely get away with minimal tweaking. Aluminum is a different animal altogether. Quality, aluminum bars are usually shaped in the annealed (malleable) state, then heat treated. Re-bending these bars is strongly discouraged.
