Is this aluminum frame fixable? And how?

The attached picture shows the small crack I have in the frame joint of this 1986 Guerciotti.

Can it be fixed, or is the frame done for?

thanks

is it alan or Vitus? There are people that fix those as I mentioned in one of your other threads. See this

Thanks for the link to the repair place. How do I tell if the frame is Alan or Vitus?

your best bet is to ask the company at the link. I think there is another company that does this, I'm guessing they will refer you if it's the wrong brand

It's an Alan. Check classic rendezvous.

It turns out that it's nearly impossible to search for anyone that repairs Alans, at least on google. It's amazing how many bike shops are named "Alan's bike shop"

You have to ship it back to the factory in Italy.

Read off a scan of an old brochure .

I had one in the 80s , airfreight charge was as if it weighed 55#, due to carton girth.
I discarded the frame. and put all the parts on a steel frame..

Have a couple 25.0mm campag SR seatposts FYI... FS

Those frames were made by ALAN probably 20 years ago, so i really doubt ALAN is fixing those frames anymore because they were discontinued zillions of years ago, always u can send an email and ask if they still have lugs moving around OR find another frame from where to get a good lug and replace it, this thing it is glued so it is not a problem to put it back together, but pretty much u have a dead frame now.

Just a crazy idea ok? Have u ever tried to use kevlar/ fiberglass and carbon fiber to fix it? U need to reinforce the whole area 1st with fiberglass then use CF, it would look weird but the frame would be usable.

Good luck :)
