Tig frame weld demo
This is from "Welding tips and tricks" on u tube. Good vid of the tig torch work.
Jody is not a frame builder but obviously an ace welder, he has vids of all types of welding. You have to smile at his "quality control" at the vids end! http://www.weldingtipsandtricks.com/...ding-bike.html and here is the framebuilder's site that gave him the mitered tubeset: According to Mike Zanconato of Zanconato Cutom cycles ( thanks for all the help Mike!!) "Compared to 4130, this alloy has about half the carbon and chromium content that 4130 does, but it has about 3 times more manganese and also vanadium added. This allows the wall thickness to be reduced to 0.016" in some cases. " Brian |
Impressive video but the ending made me cringe a little :)

awhile!:crash:). There are a lot of good vids showing welding techniques where you clearly see the weld pool/torch work for mig, tig, and ao., on his site. Brian |
It was nice to see the weld pool and associated movements of torch and filler. Neat. I didn't realize the movement was continuous. Nice fixturing for the front triangle, but I'm not sure about the rear triangle. It would have been nice to see how the alignment was before destroying the frame...

Yeah, he's got a nice way of filming the action. Plus, good to see a hands on building vid, somehow most Rapha-elite movies about framebuilders tend to focus more on artful shots of filing and dropping raving prose about art, passion and soul around:)
