Question about Columbus TSX steel

I have a question for those of you that have worked with TSX steel. I understand that it is rifled the full length of the tube. Should you be able to see or feel the rifling?

I don't think so. At the time is was considered SP with the ribs in the butt regions, and at the BB end of the chain stays.

The TSX I worked with back then was ribbed the entire length and you could see it easily.

dave

P.S. I apologize - I think I remembered incorrectly............I think TSX had internal ribbing just on the ends (that one should be able easily see and feel) and it was reynolds 508 (I think that was the number) was ribbed end to end.

Thanks for the responses. According to the Columbus site TSX is rifled (5 spirals) the full length of the tube. I was wondering whether the spirals are visible and whether you could feel them.

You will be able to see and feel the spirals. They are obvious. It was SLX and SPX that had the spirals only on the end of the tubes. Their predecessors were SL (.9/.6/.9) and SP (1.0/.7/1.0). These tube sets always had spiraled steerers. TSX was the last model made in that line before Columbus changed alloy composition and stopped making 1" top tubes.
