Colored lugs on Bamboo

Here's some pics of colored lugs on a recently completed bamboo frame. Some interesting patterns are possible. with experimentation.

Those are gorgeous! How did you do it? Looks like carbon wrapped with a semi-translucent material, or maybe layer of paint and epoxy? We use YS paints over aluminum for our colored lugs on bamboo bikes:
