Water damage?
Ok so I figure I want to ride home from work today on the uthoff trail ... so I bike over there and get on it and the first part is still a bit snowcovered .. no problem
Then mud ..
then about a foot and a half of water for a bit ..... (low gear time)
Just wondering if the water does alot of harm and gets into stuff or if it's alright ... when I recently had to get my bottom bracket replaced with a cartridge they told me it was full of water lol ... maybe I have too much fun??

well, it will get into your BB shell. Excessive water isnt good for anything on your bike, it may get into your hub bearings. Also the bottom part of your headset. Front tires, especially knobbies love to kick up water/grit into there. Just do check up on the stuff, and use oil to lube your chain

You'll want to clean that stuff off immediately after getting off the bike. The water that you described particularly, especially.

Even sealed bearing assemblies will get water in them if you submerge them. That's bad! Contaminated grease, rust. Can you take stuff apart and repack the bearings, or do you have cartridges? Yes, I know you can rebuild cartridges, but it's easier to just replace them.

Fun indeed!!
Cartridge - yes I have a cartridge now. And my other bottom bracket was apparently full of water LOL
I clean the bike regularly too so I'm not too worried ..
