Disc Brakes on Cannondale

Hi all,

I am looking for a little disc brakes insight - specifically a brand of disc. I am looking at a 2015 Cannondale Synapse 105 alloy with disc brakes. I am staying with the alloy budget. For 2015, Cannondale now places Promax Render R mechanical disc's on their synapse alloy. The components are all 105 (5800) which I want 105 or above. I am a little cautious about the disc brakes specifically the Promax render series. Anyone have any experience, reviews, or insight into this braking system? Any insight would be great!!

Thanks

S.

Those look pretty meh for a bike at that pricepoint. Their ad copy is BS BTW,only the inboard pad is adjustable;at some point for the outer pad you're going to need to adjust the cable beyond what the barrel adjuster can do. I've no doubt they'll work, but with only one pad adjustment, they're going to be fiddley to deal with. If it were me,I'd swap the calipers right off the bat for either Avid BB7 Roads or TRP Spyres. They really are the fly in the paint, the rest of the bike looks good.
