Replace bike lock after attack?
Do you replace your bike locks after they've clearly been attacked? I.e. you come back to your bike lock and see the marks from a bolt cutter?

I had a chain lock where one of the links was cut through about half way in a theft attempt. Fortunately it was a link at one end of the chain so I was able to keep using it by attaching the lock to the next link over. I would have replaced that chain if the link had been in the middle. But if the mark had been more superficial I wouldn't have thought at all about continuing to use it.

I once thought my U lock was attacked. I think it just happened from me dropping it after my bike was locked up in below zero temps and the rubber cracked. I did end up buying another U lock, safer to have two anyways!
