Can anyone provide a more recent perspective to the following thread regarding Portable Bicycle Repair Stands:

I picked up one of these about 1.5 years ago: https://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Produc...mmaryOnly=true
I think I paid like $75 back then, it's now $99. It's OK, I use it to hold the bike when not riding it, lube chains, fix flats, minor adjustments. I don't think it will work very well if I had to really crank on something like a bottom bracket. I also got a handlebar holder: https://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Produc...mmaryOnly=true to keep the front wheel from turning, makes it easier to pump tires and make minor adjustments. If you find yourself doing serious wrenching I would get something more substantial, more metal in it and heavier - or even permanent floor mounted. |
