Spent my usual riding time different tonight.

This afternoon I spent my time I usually ride working on bikes. Our Church takes toys cloths and household needs to some of the poorest counties in the U.S. They had 13 bikes donated 2 new box store bikes and 11 used bikes I took my tools, pump and small parts box . I replaced tubes and cables adjusted brakes and made sure they are all safe to ride

That's awesome, man.

You are going to bring a lot of joy to a lot of people.

The first thing I thought of was the hebrew phrase "Tikun Olam" (תיקון עולם) which literally means "repairing the world", which in the modern jewish world has taken on the meaning of the pursuit of social justice and rectifying life's inequities. It is akin to the Christian concept of being a good "Steward of the Earth". In any case I applaud you. I had participated in a similar endeavor years ago and the broken, neglected state of the donated bikes made an impression on me. Without the help of the "Bike Triage Team" those bikes would have been a further insult to the recipients, rather than a gift of joy or mobility. (Originally "Tikun Olam" had more spiritual and kabbalistic connotations, but those don't make for good bicycling metaphors.)
