So you got ZERO counter argument, therefore you resort to personal attacks (name calling) for the second time in this thread.... HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! Nice....
Lets see..... what's next???? Ah, probable a comment about the number of posts is next......therefore you should never be questioned..... HAHAHAHA!!!!!
So are you associated with one of the black/gray bike brands in some way?

I sold 2 bikes from my stable and came into some extra funds and I'm looking to build a bike with a used frame and new parts to save on costs. After looking for a month now I have found 1 2014-2015 frame that wasn't all black / Grey or 90% black with a color strip on it.
What happened to all the nice red's, blue's and colored bikes? Just about every major manufactures new line has little to know color. Are they trying to cut costs by used Black or Grey? Wasn't dull colorless bikes a fad back in 2013-14 models? If the cots of painting a frame wasn't so expensive I would probably settle and just get it painted, but the quotes I've been given seem to exceed $500 to paint carbon.
Am I the only way that hates bland colorless bikes?

Pretty sad when the "bike" section of Walmart looks better than bike shops which are selling multi-thousand dollar bikes......
If one were to rely solely on what LBS's are offering, they'd conclude that there must be a pigment shortage!

hahah that's the first frame I looked at then I realized it wasn't an option as I haven't seen one of the better race frames sell for under $3k and that's used!! The new ones are $5k and up!! I'm trying to keep the entire build around $3500 if possible which is why I'm opting for a used frame.

I personally don't care for colorful bikes. Just not my style. My 2013 model Specialized Roubaix came in a bright red color, which I guess you would like, and a charcoal grey. I went with the charcoal grey because I like bikes that don't stand out. So it's not a fad, the manufacturers are just offering them because people want them.
As for my personal preference of color, it is what I like, but there is another practical reason. Riding on the roads especially, I want to be as bright and visible as possible. My blood is better inside than on the asphalt. Hence when on my orange road bike, I have matching orange high vis helmet, handle bar tape, and often orange dry fit shirt.

EXACTLY! When Trek wants $5K+ for a bike, and only offer it in black, then have people whine that is is too expensive to offer any other color......... then obviously the bovine waste product is being liberally spread. If I were going to spend anything near that amount, then I expect to get any damn color I want. If you (the seller) won't do it, someone else will.

There is a dealer listed in Tulsa Ok. That is about 100 miles away. I already have at least 22 brands available to me locally, so ehhh. Some of them are not so stuck on the drab.

I'm not sure I understand your logic. You don't have to take what's on the showroom floor. Bikes this expensive can come in any color you want, you just have to order it. What you see in a bike shop is what the owner is predicting people are wanting. Not everyone is going to want a colorful bike. Just like not everyone is going to want a muted color. It's called supply and demand. If the demand is for muted colors this year, that's what the suppliers will provide. They are selling to the masses.
Trek's $2k Carbon 7.7 FX is like that as well. Black and only black. Doesn't even have disc brakes available. In contrast Specialized has a Carbon Sirrus available for $1500 that can be had in Red or Black with disc brakes standard. Not much choice, but more than Trek for less $$$. To be fair, it is Sora drivetrain vs Tiagra, but is still a much better option IMHO. Also the Sirrus above Sirrus Elite Carbon Disc tend to come in one color, so Specialized is hardly immune from the dull. Again, can have a Titanium bike that looks allot better than just the black bikes, with 105 or better components for less than either of these.

That doesn't make sense. I would expect the more expensive the bike, the more options you'd have available to you. Not sure what to say about that. You could obviously go to a Project One, so I wonder if that's what they are trying to up sell you on. Want a different color? Pay us for the Project One.. Wow, I'm starting to come around to your side now.

I got tired of my bike's nearly all black paint scheme, so I added some color with a can of plasti dip. I'm liking it so far. It's not the most durable finish you can use, but it's great that the coat is removable.

Hmm, not a bad idea. One of the bikes I'm looking at to be my 2nd commuter bike is a Specialized Diverge Elite A1, and it's only available in black. Plus, just about all the expert articles on bike security advise painting one's bike and/or putting stickers all over it to make it less desirable for stealing.

What happened to all the color on bikes? Probably the same thing that happened to cars. Look across any parking lot. You'll see white, gray, silver, black, but very little else. My daughter commented on how easy it is to find my (red) car when leaving school. All of the other parents' cars are desaturated.
Cars lack color because car makers don't sell to car buyers, they sell to car dealers. Car dealers have a better chance of selling a neutral car to someone who wants a colorful car than they have of selling a colorful car to someone who wants a neutral car. So car dealers order neutral colors.

Technology has nothing to do with it.Cars are almost entirely optioned in packages and sold with limited color choices because it simplifies production.
If you want to be flashy you just need to shop the flashy segments.
