What's the name of your bike?
I'm not talking about the make and model name. What's the name you have given your bike? How about sharing a picture of your bike and tell us what you named it?
I don't have a name for mine yet. She/he is only a month old. Below is a picture of my Electra. I'm open for name suggestions.

I've got a couple I've named, (haven't got the pics thing figured out yet), but have a retro-framed bike with road bike components, "SCRANUS" and a just finished, rusty-patinaed, '70 Browning 10-speed, that has had all new parts installed other than the frame and shifters, "TETANUS"

Fred. He's a little camera shy.

My bikes were all given names by their manufacturer, written right on them. Their names and birth dates are given in my profile. I didn't see any need to change them, since I'm only the temporary owner.

I guess I'm an unimaginative simpleton.
My bike is called - bike.
When I had a trike, it was called - trike.
When I had more than one bike, I referred to them by color - green, blue, black, whatever.

The only bike in my history to be blessed (?cursed?) with a name was an early 80's Univega Gran Tourismo. We spent the summer of 1990 crossing the US alone together. I spent so much time talking to that bike that it came to be called Fred. He now hangs in an out of the way place of honor in my shop. None of other my bikes or cars ever got names.

I refer to my bikes either in terms of their brand (the Drag, the Raleigh), or in terms of their function (the commuter, the tourer). Never really got to giving them a specific name.

My 1995 Schwinn 100th Anniversary springer was Beulah Annmarie
My "" "" "" Classic Cruiser - Germaine
My Rollfast - Tempest
My stolen Western Flyer was Kayleigh
My wretched NEXT Sierra Key was sworn at a lot.
Most of my cars had names...
My second, a 1972 Plymouth Duster was Candy-O
1968 Chevy Chevelle 4-door, 235 inline 6 - Charlene (from the 'John Deere Green' song)
1983 Chevy Malibu Wagon was Annie Oakley (burned 5 quarts of oil a month, guns were always smoking)
1984 Ford Tempo from Mom Matilda Esmeralda, or Tillie
1986 Pontiac 6000, Bettina Gayle (Bette)
1987 Chevy Celebrity CL, Miraya
That's what I can remember.
Now, CATS aren't so easy, unless a tomcat points it out I've taken to giving them somewhat neutral names over time.
Tommy, Spot, Spots, Tab, Tabby. Stripey, Mama half the time, Charlie (was androgynous as it was the name of a Revlon perfume) and Monochrome (I knew he was a boy but I named him that because there were already Spot and Spots and he was black and white as well, like a TV).

I am in agreement here. I don't name cars or bicycles, or other inanimate objects. I name living things. To do otherwise raises human constructs to a status similar to those made by God (or, if you prefer, nature). I realize this seems a bit odd in some cultures, but I see it as a form of Idolatry.

No Names
Sorry. I don't give names to things that won't come when I call them.
I'm not talking about the make and model name. What's the name you have given your bike? How about sharing a picture of your bike and tell us what you named it?
I don't have a name for mine yet. She/he is only a month old. Below is a picture of my Electra. I'm open for name suggestions.
