Model and year?

I just bought a Gary Fisher frame that should arrive in a couple of days. I've been trying to determine what year and model it is to get some information. I was told it was a 2003 circa team edition, but don't know much else. I've done some looking and found a 2003 Big Sur Disc that has the same color scheme, but the colors are backwards. Mine has red on the back and black on the neck area. Any info would be nice! Thanks

Not enough info.
When you get it, post good pictures, and any serial # or other possible markings to help identify it.

What is the neck area of a frame?

rvt1000r 08-09-15 07:37 PM

The neck or stem area.

Being new to this forum how exactly do I post pictures when I receive the frame. Thanks

Upload your pictures to Photobucket or similar. Then create a post here, click the "Insert image" icon, and past in the link from the Photobucket image.

I put the pictures on potobucket, now do I just reply to thread or do I need to start a new thread? I've tried and nowhere can I put pictures or choices of options.

Okay I've uploaded the pictures to photobucket, now do I reply to this thread or start a new one?

Put them here.

If you can't figure it out, simply copy the address of the photo and then insert it like this.

Okay here is the bike and the S/N. Thanks for the help!

Not sure if this is correct.

Okay doesn't look like it is correct. The S/N is WTU347T016V. The other info on the frame is 2075U023 G31 1121. The S/N sticker has WL3042260. Hope this helps.

Try again. Copy-Paste the Photobucket link from the "IMG" box into here.

If this doesn't work I give up! This would be so much easier if I could just copy and paste the pictures that I have!

Well the S/N picture worked, but I can't get the frame picture to cooperate!

Yup. Getting there. Are you copying the entire "IMG" text from the Photobucket box ?

rvt1000r 08-11-15 07:57 PM

Everytime I try anything with copying either through photobucket or my photos all it shows is an empty little box.

Homebrew01 08-11-15 07:59 PM

Look at the difference between the Serial # pic that worked, and the ones that don't work. Not sure what you are pasting in for the others.

After you figure it out, I suggest you start a new thread with pics in the first post, and a better title like "Gary Fisher Frame - Help Me ID it."

Okay there we go! Hope that helps! Thanks for all of the help!

The "neck area" is called the head tube, top tube, down tube junction.

Can you rotate that frame pic, then repost ??
Photobucket: Edit --> Orientation --> Rotate

Thanks for the info! Have u seen any paint scheme like this on any of Gary Fisher bikes?

rvt1000r 08-11-15 08:11 PM

I'm just trying to figure out what it is that I have so I can build accordingly.
