I have several skullcaps and headbands by HEADSWEATS: Cycling Cap | Cycling Hats | Skull Caps | Bike Hats | Headsweats

Yes, I wear them under the helmet.

I use Headsweats and a tube cover. The tube cover wicks the sweat to my neck from the top of my head.

I like the Halo headbands--eventually, like any headband, they become full of sweat, but the band in front still keeps it out of your eyes. I am a *very* heavy sweater, and think they're just about the best cycling accessory ever invented. :-)

I've found the answer for me but you might not like it. It's the "R" word - recumbent.

I'm a heavy sweater. I used to suffer terribly with sweat in my eyes. I have used a variety of headbands, including Headsweats, Halo, and something gutter. They all worked for short rides but would eventually fail during longer outings. What worked best for me was to carry 2 bandannas. I'd wear one, hang the other from my handlebar to dry, and rotate them every time that I stopped.

No sweat in the eyes has been an unexpected benefit of riding recumbent bikes for me. I'd almost forgotten so thanks for reminding me what it used to be like.

Best accessory for dealing with sweat is a walk-in beer cooler in a convenience store.

On the bike, Halo's bands work somewhat better for me than a bandanna. I sweat enough, though, that I can swamp anything in hot, humid weather.

I wear no sunscreen on the forehead, wear a helmet with a visor and wear a hat when I don't have the helmet on if there is any risk of sunburn.

Halo is the best, in my experience.

That said, when I lost my Halo, I went to the bike shop to get another and ... none in stock. I got a Headsweats, and it has worked fine.

I live in Humidity, U.S.A. ... summer rides are like going for a swim. I've got to have a headband — a cotton bandanna is not up to the task.

Halo better than Headsweats?

I use the Headsweats Classic under my helmet, and I've been very satisfied, but I have no experience with competing products.

+1 on the cap. Covers my bald head and when it gets completely saturated the sweat drips off of the center of the brim.
