Selling a bike

Same as above- I have both bought and sold on CL. I one case my car was in his driveway and in the other their car was in my driveway. Test rides were pretty short....

Just gave me a great idea, though, about getting a free bike after I jack the next car. LOL

You bought a classified add in the local newspaper, before the internet.

I don't hold anything when I sell a car or a bike if they want to test drive

We didn't have craigslist in my day, but we had many other list of things (like bikes) for sale. There was the list at the grocery store, at the rec center, the hardware store, and of course the ad in the newspaper and you know what, things worked out just fine. :-) (We didn't have to put up with trolls).

I've sold a number of bikes on CL...including 2 today. I just meet at a neutral, public place. At some point I will have either their email address or phone number, if not both. If you are really paranoid, why not join them on another bike? I guess it comes down to believing that people are either inherently good or inherently bad. If they are that intent on stealing, they will probably just hold you up at gunpoint and walk away with your bike.
