Looking for a fitness bike, narrowed down to Trek FX 7.4 or Fuji Absolute 2.0LE

My wife is trying to decide between a Trek FX7.4 WSD and a Fuji Aboslute 2.0LE. Same price. They both have a carbon front fork. The Fuji has full Tiagra where the Trek is Acera/Deore mix. I dont know enough about either wheelset to know if one is any better than the other. The Fuji has a mechanical disc brake and adjustable stem, the Trek has internally routed cables. The Trek seems a little heavier but not sure, bikes are at different locations

Both seems very nice the Fuji has obvious component upgrade and Trek has brand recognition and still a decent quality level of components.

My wife rode an FX7.5 amd loved it, I assume the 7.4 rides the same, havent rode the Fuji yet

Any advice?

my wife has a 7.5 as one of her bikes and loves it... it is probably her favorite all around "go to" bike.

Do yourself a favor and give the Cannondale Quick 4 a try also. It is an awesome bike, very comfortable!

I bought a Trek 7.4 fx mid June this year and have ridden it about 650 miles so far with no troubles. I am not sure about the effectiveness of the carbon fork, as I have not ridden a 7.3 (has aluminum fork).

i did change the saddle to a Selle SMP, and that makes it more comfortable.

From my perspective, it is a good, solid bike.

She tested the Quick 3 and liked it but i thought the aluminum fork would be too harsh. Saw the quick 4 but it is Altus equipped for almost the same price. We looked for a SL3 or Quick Seed 3 but none in stock her size at that price range. She likes the look of the Trek and the upgrades of the Fuji.. The Trek seemed a bit lighter

I think being Altus equipped Is just fine personally because I doubt she will ride it enough to wear out the components. I know a guy that bought a Quick 4 last year and has put over 1500 trouble free miles on it so far. I realized the components weren't as good as the Sirrus or the Escape when I bought mine but the bike itself was more comfortable so it was well worth the trade off for me. Im pretty sure the Altus equipment will outlast most riders that buy bikes that are equipped with it.
