All that stuff...
A thought occurred to me just now, and I am curious to know the answer. My question is: What do the pro teams do with all of the stuff from their wrecked bikes? Do they have dedicated pro shops where they sell off any used or outdated equipment?
It seems that there are a lot of bits and bobs that the pro teams swap out daily in the quest for better performance. So all that stuff has to go somewhere. How can we mere mortals get our hands on second-hand pro equipment? Just curious, thanks! |
You might try the racing sub-forum. They'd have a better idea than general cyclists.

Go to your bike shop or an online store and order the most expensive "bits and bobs" - it's all commercially available, and for the very reason you would think (person sees a pro use Shimano Dura Ace Di2 drive train, thinks he too can be like the pros and buys it for his own bike). As for their used stuff - whatever isn't all broken and worn out most likely gets transferred to another frame or back into the parts bin it goes for a training bike
