<---- First car that I held the pink to and still do today...

So many memories with this car, some good some bad, now is my handle for everything.

First taste of racing and the consequences of racing, first ticket, first car driving to high school, first time stranded on the side of a road, first (and only) time in jail, first time over 150 MPH in a car, first 300+ HP car, first true materistic love...

My favorite car... waiting for its day in the sun all over again.

You have 300+ HP in that thing? It must be a freaking rocket ship. You either possess way more self control than I, or way more luck, if you still have a driver's license.

We are talking quarters sub 10, it was way too much car for me and when I got caught street racing that was it for the little tiny motor that was in the back. I did loose my licence for some time including a nice long weekend in the local police hotel. That was the last time I ever raced the car, and yes I am very lucky. The street is not the place to be having that much power in a little sun 2k pound car

Racing is in my blood, and I today still do not drive slow but after lots of race car training I can handle the speed... but I keep it on tap for the proper locations (most of the time). I have never recieved a ticket since I was 16 years of age, partly because the little motor (3.1 liter VW, turboed and FI) was replaced by a 36 HP motor that did 0 - 60 in about 26 seconds and the quarter in about 30 seconds... and could barily make the training hill I train on my bike now

Still nothing is like driving an old VW... I miss my car, I hope I will be able to drive it again by the end of the summer (with a nice little mild 1.9 liter motor somewhere in the 130 HP range (good for about 120 MPH ), but at legal venues only, with gas prices at nearly 2.50 a gallon it will not be getting that much use!

Same name as my AOL screen name. I was going to be "TheKillerPenguin", but for some reason I figured it would be more adult to use PenguinDeD.

Excalibur is said to be the sword given to Arthur by the Lady of the Lake. Some say that Arthur gave it Gawain (one the Knights of the Round Table). After his last battle it was returned to the water where it was grasped by a hand and drawn under. Its scabbard prevented the user from losing blood. When Gawain fought the Mabon (a magician or a god) over the fairy Marsique, she obtained the scabbard for him but it later disappeared. The Welsh name for Excalibur was Caladvwlch and the Irish called it Caladbolg, the name of the sword used by heros in Irish legends derived from the calad (hard) and blog (lightning)."

My city was featured as a bike town with bicycling magazine last year, and they asked us to record how the free bike they gave us changed different things in our lives, so they could do an article about it. I started a blog by the same name and just kept it going since the experiment.

I coulda sworn I answered this someplace, but: Since I check this forum out mostly at work, I deserve to be broadsided by Terry Tate Office Linebacker for gross misuse of company time. "Here comes the Pain Train, baby, WoooooooOoooooo!!!!"

Also, I had just started commuting when I signed on and my landing gear was still pretty sore.

Can we have a pic of what a sub 10 sec, 150 mph VDub looked like back then? Motor, Wheels etc..
Even a pic of it wheel standing, as I imagine it would have had to, with that power.
Steve.

It was the name given to me by my college roommate and a mutual friend. We all wanted hippie sounding names. He was Logan, she was Scarlet and I was Javan. They got the name from the Bible. Javan was the grandson of Noah. I just kept it cause I like the sound of it.

It's what I am.

You should see the looks that my High School students give me when I walk into the Library in lycra. They just don't expect old fat Librarians to be any kind of an athlete. (Unless it's Rupert)

I work with a ferret rescue shelter and own three of the critters myself. When I open the cage each morning to let them run around before work "frantic" is the word that best describes their attempt to have as much fun as possible before they go back in the cage when we go to work.

CyLowe derived from Psycho Loco (PsyLo.... CyLowe)... Psycho Loco was the neighborhood gangsta in Paul Beatty's masterfully funny mid-90's novel "White Boy Shuffle."

I used to wear a linchpin in my septum back in "the day" when I was into body modification and I ended up getting stuck with the nickname "Linchpin" all throughout highschool

the username I used to go by, pj7, was a robot in an old cartoon I used to watch back in the 70's

I found a "Hobbit" name generator online a few years ago and it told me my "Hobbit" name was Bolo Grubb.

Since I like to eat and it also sounds like "Bowl of Grub" I decided that it fit me well and have used it ever since
