I was riding into the wind and was felling the drag, do you think I should get an aero rim?

Did you try riding with your hands on the lower handlebars? I read somewhere that it will make you faster.

That's an odd way to carry a spare for sure. Perhaps an aero wheel is in order.

If you're going to carry it on your back you'll never get fast.
My new aero-wheels have made me faster.

I didn't have a support vehicle, so I thought this would make for a fast wheel change if I got a flat... y'know like the pros.

Is it a spare front or back wheel? You should probably carry both!

Probably. I noticed a while back if I run I go faster. Have you looked into a different stem? Some members here apparently have 2 sets of bars. A high and low. At the same time.

The really funny thing, there are guys that bike to CX and bring two full wheel set on their back like this! I also bike to CX, but I run what I brung.

My ride today, this picture, was hauling the wheel to the shop for some work.

Absolutely no question ... an aero wheel strapped to your back will add at least 2.725464893265% to your "average speed" -- especially if you can find your lower handlebars.

Aero wheels will slow you down if they are sideways, as in the picture. Old school box section are needed here.
