favorite thick/gel bar tape?

Need to retape my bars and never found a product I really like.

Things I like:
- thicker / cushier: I have larger hands with long fingers so adding thickness makes the bars more comfortable for me to grip.
- cleanable / stays clean looking: don't like grimy looking bar tape
- comes in colors; looking for red this time

Anyone have a favorite product that fits this bill?

Lizard Skins. Comes in a variety of thicknesses. But it's not cheap as bar tape goes.

+1 for lizard skins.

I got the thickest stuff, I forgot what it's called, for the same reasons as you: large hands. It's comfortable and the semi-shiny surface resists dirt, but it still a little tacky for a good grip. Not cheap, but I think it's worth the $.

Fizik's Gel undertape Pads *.. I just used the generic Foam tape , there the Gel strip is a tacky reusable anti slipping feature
Trek-Bontrager has some.

I wrap My Trekking bars with 2 layers ..

*I bought the pad and tape set for my Road Bike tape included is Black.. so want another color? get the pad set separately

and then you can pick the tape color.

I have the fizik gel pads and fizik performance bar tape on my road bike now, and I like them OK.

The bike I'm doing now is a tri bike, and since the only place where I rest weight is on the aerobar pads, I thought I probably didn't need the bar gels.

And man, people were not kidding about the lizard skins price tag. Do they last a long time? I'd hope so at that price
