Is this bike worth it?

Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong section, but I couldn't find exactly where to ask. I found a bike on Craigslist and I would like some advice if possible. I know I would have to ride it to see if it fits me but that aside, would it be worth it? I am in a budget and trying to get into cycling. I'm planning on getting to bikes (used off craigslist) one hybrid/mtb and one road bike. spacialize seqoua road bike The owner said he would let it go for $300. Any advice? Thanks in advance

Bring someone who knows Bicycles with you. to see if it really is low miles ..
to answer these questions yourself past sales on th auction site are useful ..

or what they sold for New. $300 gets you a lot less of a bike , new, these days..

What's the "or"?

If you don't buy this bike, what's the alternative? Don't ride? Honestly, a bicycle is a pretty simple machine. If you have average mechanical sense, you are well qualified to evaluate this bicycle. You'll be able to tell if it feels like it's the right size, if the wheels spin true, and if the shifters and brakes work. You can search endlessly to find a better deal and you might find one. Or, you can buy this bike and immediately start having $300 worth of fun with it.

Looks like it's worth $300, but hard to really judge with no details in the ad.

Now that you're up to 4 posts, you'd hate to lose all that history by changing it

I used to have a 2004 Sequoia Elite with some 105 components mixed with Specialized' house brand. I liked the fit and how it rode. It was very comfort oriented. It developed a crack in the head tube this spring. Fortunately, I'd purchased the bike from an LBS and kept the receipt. They worked with Specialized and I wound up with a new 2014 Secteur Elite frameset.

Way back in 2004 the Sequoia and Roubaix shared the same frame. The Sequoia was more touring oriented while the Roubaix was more of a comfy road bike or endurance bike as they are now called.
