Bontrager tubes
 

Got a flat today, first in a while. Had a new Bontrager tube. Filled the tire and the stem leaked. Put another CO2 cartridge in and got it to hold but the stem still was leaky. A buddy of mine stopped and he told me that he had three of six Bontrager tubes do the same and I remember last year this same thing happened. Anyone else encounter this with Bontrager tubes?

Just replaced the stock rear tire tube on my Crossrip this week, 3200ish miles on it. One of the dogs stepped on the valve stem while it was sitting on the trainer (I had her food dish and she bumped into the bike backways).

Try Schwalbe Next time .. Trek Rebrands a lot of stuff Bontrager since they Own the Guy.

Talk to the Trek Dealer .. Empty peer support wont gain you another tube.

the riding a under inflated tire causes slippage around the rim, and the tube sticking to the tire

shears the stem from the rubber around it.

So far my only Schrader valve stem leak was a Specialized tube, damaged by a burr in the rim valve stem hole. I deburred both rims.

Rear now has a Nashbar self sealing tube; front is a standard Bontrager. No problems.

I've had no problems (besides flats caused by worn tires) on the handful of Bontrager tubes I've had. Will continue using them if they continue being in stock at my LBS.

OTOH I have had zero trouble with Bontrager tubes, and actually find that they lose less air than any other tube. If given a choice I will buy them every time.

I had one go bad out of the box recently. I threw it away and grabbed another one. No need to make a fuss about a $4 item. Maybe I could have hung onto it and taken it back later but the trash can was closer than my LBS.

Bring the bad tubes back to the shop, see if they will exchange for new ones. Chances are they will be able to warranty them.
