How to Get Drivers to be Friendly

I would have never guessed....

I put some reindeer horns on my bicycle helmet and went out for a ride this afternoon.

I started getting the toot toot friendly honks but it took me a few times to figure out what was up. I got several thumbs up likes and comments at the red lights.

One guy told me to be careful since it is hunting season.

Many drivers seem to think of cyclists as humourless fanatics, and appreciate the ones who act otherwise. This goes both ways. A couple of weeks ago I spotted a guy riding a Moulton. I waved him through the intersection and turned right to come up alongside to compliment his bike. We had a very nice little chat. He was surprised that I knew anything about Moultons and was very pleased. it was a very nice encounter for both of us, I had never seen a Moulton in the wild before. We all have to be nice to each other, and to keep in mind that the vast majority of motorists are careful and try to be safe

I don't see any humor in this. Now if you'll excuse me, it's time for my 1 Hr., 33 Min., 17 Sec. bike ride in Zone 2.

The antlers provide 3.87 watts of drag, so you can reduce your ride time by 3:43.

Just sayin'...

If I saw a guy wearing antlers I'd want to stay on his good side too ....

With all the hunting stands I pass on my rides, I'd be wary.
