GT Bicycles and Frames, please recommend

I have never ridden a GT bicycle nor have cycling buddy who own one but I read here there are generally good comments on GT triple frame design. So I am looking for either a mid priced GT MTB or endurance/gravel or hybrid bike. I will be using it for road and occasionally off-road/single track and some hill climbing.

I have no idea what the modern offerings are, but owned a GT MTB back in the early 90's that was bullet proof. I sold it within the last few years to a friend needing a set of tires. Very stiff bikes.

I'm not familiar with any of their new offerings, but I owned a '93 GT Corrado that was a very solid bike. Seems like they lost a lot of street cred when they were bought by Pacific Cycles.

I have a GT Eightball....their mid-priced urban Shimano Alfine 8 speed IGH turned to be a perfect flat bar gravel road/adventure bike.

Since it could fit 40c tires, I'm happy with the choice. My first GT bike. For $900, it was a good value and allowed me to upgrade it inexpensively within my budget.

I have a late 90's Zaskar . I broke a Cdale, got the Zaskar . Simply bomb proof frames, I still rock top shift 8speed . The anodizing is fading, that so far the only minus on this fantastic old friend .
