a website for a ROAD frame with disc mounts
 

Hello,

its just as my topic would say about what this discussion is about. so lets make it shorter. I am looking for a cheaper road frame with disc mounts under $500 CAD. What i have been through many website such as amazon, aliexpression, ebay, so on and on... a website that is usually are often used by people for shopping, but all i can find is a lot of road frame that cost more than 1000.00 which is quite expensive.

I would appreciate anyone who know a website that i can find a good, cheaper road frame that i can use for training and speed none more. if you have any questions, let me know and make sure you quote me so i will get an email that you are speaking to me in here.

EDIT: if there is no cheaper road frame? then what about a complete road bike with disc mounts? if possible a racing road bike?

Are you willing to buy a used frame? Either Kijiji or the Pinkbike buy/sell seems to have stuff that fits that, at least near Ottawa.

Why the requirement for disc?

Disc brake road bikes are a work in progress, standards are changing all the time and something you buy this year may be obsolete a couple of years from now. Buy a frame only if you already have most of the components you will need. If I were in the market for a disc brake road bike I would look at this: ANDANTE 2 - Endurance | Opus Bike
Canadian company, so prices are in Canadian dollars. Buying from anywhere in the US is terribly expensive right now with the dollar trading at under 70 cents US

1. I question why you've got your heart set on disc if you're just looking for a cheap frame. Doing a lot of descents?
2. I haven't seen much new in that range, especially frames labeled 'road'. If you're looking for disc, road-like geometry, get a cyclocross labeled frame. It'll have a little more room for tires/fenders (I think that's good for a training bike)

As someone stated, the advantage of disc brakes are starting to trickle down in the road frame genre. The fact that disc brakes do not destroy rims is the big reason that disc brakes are catching on.

I just bought a GT Grade, an "adventure road bike" with disc brakes. People have corrected me when I called it a cross bike, it has hardware to mount a fender and bottle cages, more relaxed geometry.

Living in Seattle, it rains a lot. Disc brakes have more consistent stopping power in the wet. And they don't chew up your rims.

In all honesty, the OP needs to at least double their spend for a good disc road frame.

I mean, $500CAD is only about $350USD or €312, which just won't get you much of anything.

I don't think GT offers a frameset, but their base Grade, the alloy one, is about $700, too.

Yeah, I'm not aware of that. I was mainly commenting to answer the "why disc?" question. Well, that and because I'm excited to have a new bike!

everyone who wanted to know why i set my heart on disc brake.

I liked disc brake better because i can control on how much power i want to brake my bike when i am riding at high speed (going on flat or going downhill) and i can feel a small of amount brake i pull the lever even its just small. the difference between rims and disc is that it can handle the raining season. where i live has a lot of raining in spring and a lot of them in summer. I am sure you know that rims cannot handle raining and wet.

Keep in mind that the OP asked about prices in Canadian dollars which means not only will the price be much higher but also that there will be much higher shipping charges and import costs as well. This would be well out of the OP's stated price range

OP, if you are willing to buy a whole bike instead of just a frame, a lot of bike companies are now offering their lower-level road bikes with discs. For example, you can get a cannondale synapse with tiagra and disc brakes for US$1250.

How much does it cost to ship to the U.S.?

it depends on what shipping company you are dealing with.. for example if its from Europe to USA via DHL.. it can be up to 100.00USD, last time i learned it was 98.99USD or around that much for shipment.

which has a good few review so i would try this frame for my first road bike... :) but i am trying to find out what shipping method they are using because it seems to be coming from Europe. not USA like i thought it would come from.

Shipping from the UK is often cheaper to Canada than from the US, many UK sites offer free shipping to Canada.

Sorry you couldn't find anything at your initial budget, but if that London is going to cost you about $740 to your door, I'd strongly suggest you take a look at the Kinesis Racelight 4S Disc from Wiggle or Merlin before committing to the Planet X.
