For the love of your bike
Today I got ready to leave work, and as I was leaving a kid on a trek road bike pulled up to eat at subway, which is next door to where I work. The kid looked around for a second as I was putting my gloves on and what not looking for a place to lock his bike. He then opened the door to subway and wheeled his bike inside. I am glad to see that other people treasure their piece of freedom as much as I do

Oohhhh, don't we all just love our bikes. It's not just the freedom but the joys of being ourselves on our rides. I can honestly say that everytimne I have taken out my bike, I have a big smile...on my face and in my heart. I am so glad that I have rediscovered what bikes can do for one's happiness....

It is nice, it provides so much more than most see if you ask me. I tell people, i dont want to leave my bike outside or sitting in the rain/snow and they look at me like im some sort of freak. Not only is it that much fun to ride, but it gives you hours of entertainment searching for parts because a bike is never truly finished. You can tinker, lots of stuff you can do beyond riding.

My first apt was one of those highrise things and i had no access to a water hose so i would just give the bike a good ole shower when it got too dirty

I appreciate it when business' understand the importance of our bikes and their values...I know of a business, ( coffee house..) has a sign.. 'Ride on in'...No room for bike racks about and many cyclists frequent this place...so they have some limited space from which to watch your bike...good when business' share in this love of bikes...

I do bike maintenance during the winter months when there's a foot of snow in Indiana. It'll just be too friggin cold outside to turn on a hose so I'll have several bikes in pieces laying around the house at various stages of degreasing, washing down, repacking and waxing. Without doing much of that cleaning and degreasing in the shower they wouldn't get very clean.

Enya...good choice..any good bike deserves such a mood setter.... do you circle your bike with candles to keep away the evil spirits.

On those rare occasions when my fixed-gear commuter is inoperable, I'll often ride my Specialized or Lemond to school. And since those bikes are considerably more expensive and delicate, I'll bring them into class with me. Imagine the stares that I get when I walk into a class late, wheeling a road bike and clicking and sliding all over the floor from my cleated carbon road shoes.
