My basic is to add cinnamon, a touch of vanilla extract, flax seed, fruit either strawberries or blue berries & walnuts. Sometimes in addition I add a touch of tumeric and chia seeds as well and if I want some sweetness I add a touch of blue agave.

A teaspoon of each of ground flax, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, sliced almonds, chia seeds, cocao nibs, goji berries, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon mixed with 1/4-1/3 cup of oats. I use quick oats so I just need to add hot water, no need to cook.

I mix it up and use quinoa and buckwheat in rotation with oats.

I usually make steel-cut oatmeal and add chopped pecans, raisins, dried cranberries and other fruits. I usually top it with a little cinnamon and Greek yogurt.

Steel cut is for pikers. I eat whole oat groats - with either with cinnamon and apple chunks or with peanut butter.

Yes, the raisins sweeten it up nicely to balance out the bitterness of the cocoa.

There should be a perfect way to describe the tension of flavors, but I just cannot come up with the right word ....

It's made by Earth Balance. The coconut in it brings out the peanut butter big time. I have always been a huge PB freak and not much at all a fan of coconut, but this one is by far my favorite!
Wait till you spread a little on a medjool date.... You will slap yourself for waiting this long to find this combo!

1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
2 tablespoons oat bran
2 tablespoons milled flax
1 tablespoon crushed walnuts
A few knocks of cinnamon
Some honey
Milk

Nuke at a power level of 3 for 5.5 minutes followed by 1 minute at a power level of 4.

This mixture, a glass of OJ, and a cup of chicory coffee. Still takes me a while to get going. I'm other than one of those irritating morning people.

Yep. That's how I do it, except I use honey instead of raisins. Every single morning.

Pro tip: buy bulk oats in the 50 lb bag on ebay or amazon for $50.

SUGAR causes inflammation, thus I avoid it at all costs. Flax seed is absolutely worthless unless it is ground or in oil form. Oatmeal that is not soaked, whether short term, overnight or cooked, is much harder to digest and does not give up its nutrients. 5 Reasons Raw, Soaked Oats are a Must-Try! | One Green Planet

Rolled oats with 1+ teaspoon of cinnamon, ginger, tablespoon of ground flaxseed and chia seed, turmeric, cumin, cayenne pepper, freshly ground black pepper, fresh ground fennel, pumpkin seed, sunflower seed, almonds, blueberries, 100% organic cacao nibs, ground mushroom blend, Grape Nut cereal, sodium ascorbate crystals to release the iron, half a smashed banana, almond butter, milk for soaking or soak oats overnight, sometimes fresh OJ off my tree, sometimes a dash of ground espresso, might also add some cold cooked quinoa.

I also like almond meal in my oatmeal, if I have it around! Pretty tasty.

Another idea: rolled oats on top of some plain yogurt, with a little honey and nuts. Stir. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and enjoy! If you happen to add flax oil, add that too.
