Grip Your Head

Not too many years ago in the distant past (2009-10), Headsweats made a cotton shorty. I haven't been able to find a single one. I checked Pace, and they don't seem to offer a cotton one, either. I wonder why that is and was wondering if someone knew why/where I could find one (not the ones you see at AM/PM).
they are warmer than the Coolmax and do not slip under the helmet as much as nylon, as well. Sometimes, I just like the feel of cotton. It seems to be able to grip your head better.

Traditionally Cycle caps were cotton.. good luck with your googling..

cotton warmer than wicking poly? How can that be?

The Headsweats were a relatively thick cotton, with terry cloth sweatband and thick elastic in back: Distinct from the ones at the corner store.

Thanks, Bob.., that's good advice.

What I've done is find a "do-rag" with a sweatband built in. This has been effective in keeping sweat out of my eyes for the most part. On hot, muggy days I still have to press on my helmet top to get the excess out of the helmet padding. I too, prefer cotton. Here is what I use:

OldsCOOL, not to hijack, but did you have the bike in your background finished with automotive paint, or is that simply a glossy powder coat finish? It looks very nicely done.

Thank you, I sanded the Cannondale Criterium to bare aluminum and finished with auto store acrylic lacquer. Application worked well for me, if any runs occur all you have to do is sand and repaint with topcoat (no primer). The only drawback was the need to hand rub with a compound. Durability has been good after 2 summers and I'm very careful with it, anyway.

Since you mentioned it.., that IS a nice finish! That's some cool black beans, Olds!
