Yup. All taken while riding with an iPhone 5C. But I'm a photographer at heart so I bet it kinda shows through with composition.
I take a bunch and a lot come out like **** - just like real photography. These are just the ones that look good!

And thanks!

Here are my two contributions to this awesome thread. The first one is riding the boardwalk in 2013 at Wildwood, NJ. It's the thing I love doing the most when I'm at the beach. The second one is a rail trail near my house from a few years ago.

Don't know why, exactly, but those images make me thirsty! How many water bottles do you carry out there?

For normal rides (15 miles or less) I carry about a liter of water. On the longer rides, I will put 2 liters in the Osprey, and put a bottle on the bike itself for backup - very rare I run out of water. I would prefer to carry too much than not enough, there isn't much cover out here in the desert southwest, and it gets hot rather quick.

A Springlike Day, At Last.

It was shorts-and-Tshirt weather today, so I went for a ride after work. Still getting my Raleigh DL-1 in shape for the Lake Pepin 3-speed Tour. He performed flawlessly tonight; I think we're ready! Here are a couple I took just for this thread:

Rode along the Mississippi River Trail (MRT - of course), up to Mendota and back. There were many people out enjoying the trail and the nice weather.

Here's another shot taken on the homeward leg:

I'm going to pepper the forums, various threads, with the rest of the shots I took tonight.

I have a similar headlight that I was running on my grass track racer.

"Grass track racer"? That's the first time I've heard of that. It's a gorgeous bike - simple and elegant. Do you actually race that thing? Or is it a "racer" in the same sense as "Path -", or "Cafe Racer"? Either way, it looks pretty sporty.

The headlight on Gypsy Bleu is called a "Donson Torpedo" chrome retro-style headlight that I bought off eBay:

Donson Torpedo Chrome Retro Classic Vintage Bike Bicycle 6 LED Light Headlight | eBay

It is the second headlight I have had on this bike, because the first one I bought ended up being plastic (the ad didn't say that). I don't use plastic on my bicycles unless there is no alternative. This was the" Linus Headlamp", and I bought that off Amazon for something like $27. It was in my early photos of this bike before I decided to order the Donson.

Both headlights use LEDs, powered by AA batteries, and are useless for night-time navigation. Yes, the Donson has 6 LEDs, and is all metal, but beyond that it is really only good "to be seen"; to illuminate reflective road signs, but not the road ahead. As far as I know, nobody has come out with a useful retro-styled metal LED headlamp yet. If somebody knows of one, please enlighten me? (Sorry, but I just had to do that...)

Thanks, Path Racer is the more common term, grass track racer is used in England and often refers to actual races.

Mine is inspired on the turn of the century racers, but is a fake, as the frame is a modern cromoly steel track frame.

"enlighten"

Thanks for the info on the light. This has been my experience too. My light is old school, with an incandescent bulb and lacks the circuitry to keep the dynamo from burning it up if you go too fast.

Another beautiful day here in the Twin Cities. Since I've been riding my C&V bikes almost exclusively this Spring, I decided to take Great Scott!, my modern roadster, out for a spin. Here's a shot as we wind through the neighborhood on the way to the MRT (trail):

Nothing much to see there now, but when the leaves come in, this is like a green cathedral.

Next, part of the MRT that I'm not especially fond of, because that ugly black fence stands between rider and scenery. Still, it's part of the ride, so:

They are doing a lot of work along the trail this year - I hope that doesn't mean they are going to close it for part of the season. I suppose I could find out... Here we see where they have been clearing out some brush:

Finally, here's one that went a little sideways on me.

DQRider, that's a really nice shade of green you got there.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Finally took the big bike out for a spin, weather was perfect! Off to the powerlines to start things off. I once ran into a small herd of cows & bulls down this way.
[IMG][/IMG]

I like finding these horned seed pods, I think they're neat.
[IMG][/IMG]

Then hit up my other dirt path. Yeah, the steerer needs cutting, I know .
[IMG][/IMG]

And here's a bonus, my bike tipping over as i took the pic. That plant had pretty springy branches I guess.
[IMG][/IMG]

All the critters were out, I saw 2 quails, a ground squirrel, about 7 cottontails, and a teeny baby centipede. Was such an awesome ride.
