As title says, I went to the Museum of Cycling in Marin County, California (Fairfax) to be specific.

It had all types of cool bikes and concentrated a lot on the evolution mountain biking with some very old bikes with some very funky mechanics. Cool to see the complete evolution!

Here are some pictures that you guys can enjoy! Some things to look out for are the old complexities of the rear derailleurs, chainring craziness, and suspension madness.

I didn't take any more but hopefully you'll see enough for you to visit if you ever get the chance and if you're in the area. Some pictures are blurry since I took them on my phone. I should have taken more. :[ The camera roll is shortlived. I apologize!!

To borrow a concept from the current presidential campaign, those bikes are from when America was great! The evolution of the MTB up through the '90s was certainly a gilded era in bike design, what with all the innovation coming out of small shops and the regional specificity. It was so exciting to follow and be a part of; I miss it in a lot of ways.
