I'd really have wonder how a frame that is supposed to be "Handmade in Italy" made its way to China to end up on DHGate.

So some enterprising individual, bought the bike, used it for a while, stripped it & then sold the frame for more than he paid for the entire bike?? Btw DHGate seller has the following disclaimer...

"Note:Though all brand goods selling on Dhgate are not original goods. They are made in China. But there has no problem with the quality and appearance. We have many clients from different countries,Facts prove the goods are high quality.Pls don`t worry."

So if it's the same bike, then odds are it's not "real"

It real in that if you drop it on your foot , your foot wil feel It

I can Guarantee Mario was not the Guy that Made It.. an Italian Business wants to pay as little for labor as any other profit centered Business
So Campagnolo opened a Romanian Factory .

Carbon fiber layup is done by hand , China gets the win for low labor costs . Its not unusual to ship the frames from China To Europe

Maybe Paint it with the Logo install the components and claim the Origin that will sell for the Most Money.

Im just guessing ... If You really wanted to Know you would have contacted The bike company In Italy

instead You came here . the Bleachers ..

You are correct, but Cippo claims they don't do that.

It says on the landing page of their website,
[h=2]The only frames in the world that are entirely conceived, designed, manufactured and tested in Italy.[/h]

So either Cippo is lying, or somebody in China is making counterfeits.

Doesn't pass the sniff test for me. The rusted, almost stripped screw head with the flakey paint seems odd for such a supposed high end product. I could be wrong, but the only way to get a better sense is to have a genuine article to compare. Those DHGate.com bikes are obvious knockoffs. But hey, if I buy 50 or more I get one heck of a deal.

I can't remember where I saw it, but recently I watched a news type program on TV where the subject was the multi billion dollar counterfeit sporting goods problem. They showed bicycles, snowboards, tennis rackets, etc..

I too would be hesitant to buy something this expensive from a Chinese source. It's possible the seller at DHgate bought up some leftovers from last year as it is is a 2015 model. If this is a knockoff, it is a darn good replica. There are an lot of good quality bike lights, tools, and bike parts sold from China. I've yet to get something I really thought wasn't worth the price I paid. I just received a very loud bike horn that sold for just $6. It is lightweight, compact, and runs on 2 AA batteries. It will make your ears ring. I'd rate it better than my $29 Airzounds horn which has a rather crappy plastic mount prone to breakage.

I will say that I love the China sources for LED lights sold on eBay. The stuff they sell is far superior to what can be purchased at local home improvement stores and at a fraction of the cost. I bought bulbs, LED strips, controllers, and even some wall and ceiling fixtures. The choices available locally are very limited and very expensive. If you read the information on the box, they are all made in China anyway.

We insist on buying bulbs that look like standard incandescent bulbs while bulbs that look like an ear of corn with LEDs are brighter and way more efficient E14 E27 G9 GU10 24 36 48 56 SMD 5730 5630 LED Corn Bulb w Cover 110V 220V NIU | eBay (12W 1320 lumens 4 for $10 postpaid compared to $9 for a single 12W Utiliitec 1100 lumen bulb at my local Lowes)
12V 50cm 0 5M LED Rigid Strip 5630 SMD Bar White Light Lamp Aluminum Alloy Shell | eBay 12V DC strip light around 9W 1080 lumens $1.85 12V DC so it requires a driver which can be any old 12V converter that delivers 1amp at 12V. Four of these are about equivalent to a four 40W fluorescent lamps.

I also spotted a plastic switch sold from China for 75 cents postpaid. The absolutely identical switch is available from WalMart for $7.99. It's a cheap plastic push button switch for auto/truck use.

Contact Cipollini, the frame has a serial number and claimed microchip.

It's been used since the DHGate photo, op bought a used frame not a complete bike. At least that's what i guess happened, from reading the op's post.

@ arr120 contact here Support Request | Cipollini

The OP specifically stated the frame was NOT from DH Gate. Is it being assumed Cipollini only made one bike in that configuration?
