Paul Components Seat Post Fit Question

I just got a Trek 520 and installed my Brooks Saddle to it and finding I need more setback. I want to order the Paul Components seat post and want to verify it will fit and have no issues. Thanks.

At a minimum, you must match the diameter of the new post with that of the old. Beyond that, I don't anticipate much trouble. If you search Google Images for "Paul Components Seat Post" you find more than a few pictures of Brooks saddles mounted on Paul posts.

According to the Trek website, the current 520 comes standard with a Bontrager SSR, 2-bolt head, 27.2mm [diameter], 12mm offset seatpost. 27.2mm is a common seatpost diameter but if you have a different model year 520 than the one shown you'll need to verify the correct seatpost diameter for your bike.

The Paul Tall and Handsome with a 26mm setback also has a 27.2mm diameter according to the Paul Components website so it'll fit in the 520's seat tube. From what I can tell they don't seem to offer other sizes of this seatpost.

Yep. I was able to get the diameter and the Paul post will work and I have ordered it, should be in my hands in a day or 2. Cannot wait because I definitely need to move my seat back a bit further than my current post allows with the brooks saddle.

Polish Up the inside of the frame seat tube and remove any edge Burrs and the post should go in without scratching it.

27.2 is rarely 27.2000 accuracy carried out to the 10 thousandth of a MM .
