Someone is going to be busy for a while.
It's out of control...5 1/2 pages and rolling along.

Most likely they have used some type of auto spam software, not the first time its happened, here, or in other forums. And, yes, its a ball to clean those up, time consuming and you have to stop it at the IP address, or at least you used to. Good luck and happy hunting to the staff.
Edit: And, its almost gone, well done staff! From what I could find, they have hit a slew of gaming and forums across the 'net, we just happened to be one of the lucky ones. probably some nefarious Chinese military intelligence outfit that figured BF must be the source of the US intelligence community's finest minds.

It's not a person ... it's a program. A spambot. A person will create the spambot, of course, and then just let it run.

I have banned approximately 30 spambots and deleted over 1000 spam posts just this morning.
More to go...

Since no one was commenting on it I thought I was the only one seeing it. Glad it's fixed. Might have actually had to do something constructive today otherwise.

Saw it.
My head started to hurting.
Thought it was just bad vision from a "hang over".
Then realized I don't drink.
Great clean-up!!!!!

I'm on other forums and it happens there too ... at about the same time of day too. Sadly, it's a pretty common occurrence on forums.

I mean, come on, what could someone possibly get out of programming a computer so spam like that? It's even is a foreign language, so whatever they are selling, most of us would not be buying due to the language barrier.
I guess, in general, it must be worth the effort somewhere...

To me, these looked like the interruption types, but I am not a computer/internet expert by any means. I cannot write code, do not understand it at all, and don't want to either. I was a moderator at a dirt bike forum several years ago, and I quickly found out I didn't know enough to even do that job.
Kudos to Bill and the others that put out this fire.

Never, in the course of human history, have so many BF members, owed so much, to so few moderators.......to paraphrase Sir Winston.
