So I got the hubs. They are Shimano Deore XT model FH-M756A hubs for front & rear. Seems very well made compared to the stock hubs on my bike. I decided to go ahead & try building my own custom wheel set. I plan on getting a DT Swiss rim & maybe carbon fiber spokes.

A shop told me my rear derailleur was bent so I'm just gonna replace that to. I also gotta get a new chain as well. I'm going to swap the mechanical disk brakes for hydraulic ones.

No such thing as carbon fiber spokes, except those specially made and built at the factory, such a Mavic R-sys.

Get regular stainless steel spokes, with brass nipples.
