BMC Pro Machine SLC01 - good purchase?

Hi everyone,

I just bought a 2009 BMC Pro Machine SLC01 on Ebay in my size. It cost me $1250 including shipping.

It is this bike:
2009 BMC Pro Machine Super Record - New and Used Bike Value

Now, the bike frame is in pristine condition, so really happy about that. No major chips or scratches at all.

The groupset is a bit bizarre, it is a mismatch of various groups, all pretty good ones though:

Easton alloy seat post
Ritchey alloy bars and stem
Shimano Dura ace front derailleur and Dura ace 52-39 standard crank set
Sram force 10 speed rear derailleur
Sram force shifters (mismatched pair with different hoods (red and black) and levers (silver and black)
Sram Rival brakes
Velocity Aerohead wheelset - King hubs

I want to say this was an amazing deal for the price, given that only the frameset cost $3800 back in 2009 and could go for as much as $1173 - $1207 in like new condition. I believe this is the frame the professional BMC team used to ride around that time.

Do you guys agree? Was this a good deal?

Any suggestions on upgrades I could do to this bike? Or does the mismatch of components not really matter performance wise (I don't really care).

Thanks!

You do realize that used carbon assplodes, do you not?

Actually, seriously, that's a quality bike for the price. For the purpose of riding, a mixed batch of components is a non-issue.

Thanks a lot for the responses guys! I don't know that much about bikes, so I just wanted to check with the experts here.

I guess I will just keep the components for now then, and replace when they wear out.

I'm looking forward to putting a lot of miles on it!
