garmin edge 520 stages power drop outs

does anyone else see power and cadence drop when using a stages power meter? this is with there new version 2.0 power meters. stages have told me to move the head unit to the stem which has pretty much removed it all. but why if there sensor is capable of sending a signal 10-15 meters does having a out front mount cause dropouts? I have contacted stages and they blame Garmin firmware, they had me send them a ant+ log also to review. I also contacted Garmin but they have just never replied. it seems this isn't a new problem from searching around else where as the Garmin edge 1000 was also effected by this.and even people having weak signals for ant+ sticks to use for indoor training. which reasons to me as its not just some Garmin software problem but maybe a stages crappy ant+ signal that they dont want to admit. but i could be totally wrong. thanks for any inputs or experiences on this
