Should I or shouldn't I?
A couple of weeks ago, I decided that my 'sluggish' shifting on my C'Dale was because the indexing mechanism was worn, and I needed to replace them. They were those nice smoky-anodized shifters from the mid 80's, and they matched the brake calipers. Going online, I found that I could get brand-new metal Sora dt shifters for $30, or spend about the same money for any of a bunch of well-used similar 105 shifters on EBay. Since I'm sure those shifters had the same amount of wear that mine did, I decided to go with the Sora shifters, and now, my problems are solved.
But now, I wonder; could I sell the old shifters on EBay? They often go for more than what I paid for the replacements, and they do sorta work. If I sold them making no promises to some sucker for $40, would it be a case of caveat emptor, or would I be dishonest by selling it? You would be surprised how much some people pay for old junk there....

List them clearly and honestly, with good pictures.

IIRC I got $45 for my 1996 Campagnolo Chorus levers with a broken right paddle pawl spring. I included pictures where that was obvious, and documented it in the text.
I also documented what parts I'd replaced and when which was where the value came from - discontinued cam to upgrade 8 to 9 speed; recently replaced discontinued right thumb button and paddle return springs; almost new hoods...
