Need help in identifying a 1 X 11 bike
A couple of months ago while visiting an REI store their bike dept had on display a 1 X 11 white either hybrid or mountain bike going for $799 if I remember correctly. Contacting the store today was of no use in identifying that bike. My exhaustive online search didn't help either. If anyone could provide some information I'd appreciate it. Maybe the bike was a left over 2015 model - I don't know. TIA! 8)

Well a white 1x11 is a kinda big group. Or go to the REI web site. And then get all the brands they sell, then go to all the website including last years model. Then try to decide what you might have seen. Or you could just get advice from random strangers on the interwebs....

...weather is the same as the last time you visited. Maybe I misread the price of the bike. Hmmmm.

Now that you mention that specifier, 1x11...SRAM X1, it seems that I'm looking at REI bikes at the pirce of $1400+ for a 1X11 speed. Hmmmm. Yes, and I remember the distinctively small-diameter stand alone chainring.

Shimano MTB also offers 1x11 drivetrains, and they don't cost no $800 for the groupset unless you go with XTR.
Something you may wish to consider is that some SRAM cogsets require an XD driver hub. This is a proprietary part that locks you in to SRAM which in my experience and in my locality is significantly more expensive than Shimano.
