Older Cannondale
Looking at buying an older 2002 Cannondale Silk Adventure 2000 (asking 300 for it) and I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with this bike. Is it considered a Hybrid or a Comfort Bike? I'm 60+ female and looking for a comfy bike that I can bring to Acadia and ride the carriage trails without having to get out and walk it..lol. Seems like it was a pricey bike in it's day, which may account for the high resale price. Any feedback would be helpful! Thanks in advance!

Looking it up...
2002 Cannondale Silk Adventure 2000 - BikePedia
It was a very high-end comfort bike, which is an unusual thing. This type of bike is usually pretty cheap! It has Cannondale's Head Shok front suspension and premium components. I tried to look up the components but they are from web 1.0 vintage... they had some kind of clever self-energizing front gear change but I can't figure out the details.

I agree with Darth Lefty, I have a bike that is similar but different. It is a 2001 Road Warrior 1000. The difference is that the Silk Adventure has a bit more upright seating and overall lower gearing. The larger tires will make the ride more on the plush side. And it has a suspension seat post.
So the wider tires and lower gearing would make it easier to ride on the carriage trails.
I think $300 for that bike is a good buy.
The Nexave front derailleur is a bit different.
