Bianchi Volpe design change 2007 -> 2008?

I'm reading the Sierra Club's book on Bike Touring (x Raymond Bridge, 2nd edition, 2009) and it seems to have some good info, but it REALLY needs a good editor to clean it up...though that's a different discussion.

In the book a number of touring bikes are suggested, one of which (as written) is the "Bianchi Volpe (up to 2007)"

What happened in 2008? ..and beyond I assume..

Nothing obvious from Bikepedia... It got disk brakes just a year or two ago.

I've searched and have found nothing that would prompt Bridge to say what he said. I read somewhere that newer Volpes lost the mid-fork braze-on. I recently bought what's said to be a 2009 (in transit now on its way to me) and it has the mid-fork braze-on. It appears the new ones do also.

No idea..

I don't know, but I wouldn't recommend a Volpe for touring; the chainstays are too short.

The publisher being the Sierra Club, maybe it's for reasons to do with the company and not the bike?
