Also when considering names be sure to check domain name availability. Online presence remains very important, and it's far easier to convey a simple website name in community engagement / marketing activities than it is with a complex name.

Folks over this way seems to be a bit less adventurous in their naming: Atlanta Cycling, Roswell Bicycles, Smyrna Bicycles, Peachtree Bikes, and Silver Comet Cycles (adjacent to the SCT), and Free-Flite Bicycles off the top of my head.

Notice they're all pretty easy to remember when someone tells you the name.

If the name or advice I give is chosen:
Do I get commission of your sales?
via
$ or credit in new products?

Then there's the copyright/trademark atty to negotiate.

I know that this is an old thread but thought I'd throw in my 2 cents for future bike shop owners. Back in the 1970s I started a shop with a friend, and we called it the Freewheeler Bike Shop. Back in those days bikes had freewheels, not cassettes. I still like the name....

Someone went back a ways to bring this back.

He's either out of business by now or making a go of it. Maybe he'll let us know?
