Ratio of Bikes to Cars

Okay today I was thinking about my ratio of cars to bikes. (We are a middle aged couple with no small children living at home. ) We have one 1999 Ford Taurus between the both of us (we like to
sea kayak) and six bicyles in our basement. The bikes get way more use then the car.

Yeah...well my family has 4 cars and 2 bikes...both bikes are mine. I promise the cars get more use, not by my choice. I can't even convince my father to buy a 55 dollar walmart 10 speed

Cyclist0383 05-11-05 10:43 PM

6:2 in favor of the bikes.

DCCommuter 05-11-05 10:45 PM

My family has one car, four bikes, three trail-a-bikes, three tricycles and two trailers. Plus two more bikes we just ordered, and probably another two within a few months. All the bikes are in the garage and the car stays out on the street.

Does a tandem count extra?

4 to 1 ratio...........which translates to 8 bikes to 2 SUVeeees

khuon 05-12-05 12:23 AM

3:2 in my garage but I keep trying to increase the former.

lilHinault 05-12-05 01:05 AM

Gaa! Simplify your fractions! 6 bikes, 2 cars = 3:1 (Prof. Smit would get upset ;) )

1:1 for me, with plans to increase the ratio soon.

jeff-o 05-12-05 10:30 AM

2 cars, 3 bikes, 2 people.

I'd like to ditch one car, but stuff is just so spread out here, and I'm not a strong enough rider yet.

mirona 05-12-05 10:31 AM

2 road, 1 mountain, 1 bmx, 1 car, 1 truck

2:1 oooo The truck isn't used often though. It's what most trucks should be... a workhorse.
