Which Ti frame for new cross build: Lynsky, Seven, Moots, Serrota, Habanero, and on

Good evening all!

a little upset that the Penguins scored first but its very early in the game. Ok getting back on point...sry. Those of you that have no tolerance for this type of thread need not apply...seriously it's just not enough to get upset over especially with it only being Monday.

Being that this is my first cross bike build I am appealing to those who have had personal experience. I am looking for some guidance to what would be the best value in a titanium cx frame for my new build. That and any other suggestions you good folks have regarding all parts EXCLUDING most of the Shimano 6800 group (pretty well set on FD RD cassette and shifters).

Of course I know that saddles are a personal preference but what I am seeking is info on cyclocross specific things like headsets, stems, brakes (although I have been advised to go with Canti / Mini-V brakes for practicality and cost saving over disc brake)

Since I have a bunch of hardware in my leg like plates and over a dozen screws I will probably have to got with a custom crankset But I would still welcome suggestion especially about reliable parts. As far as wheels and tires I will be putting together 2 sets: 1 for off road (rail trails mostly but ya never know when the woods and hills will be calling me back to my mtb days :) ) and 1 for pavement.

I have a very capable 2006 Pilot 2.1 - Bike Archive - Trek Bicycle for my road bike but if Im going to spend between 2 and 3k on a new build it might as well be a cross to have the best of both worlds. Or just go with a budget cross build, strip the Trek for part on my budget build cross bike and invest the dough in a 2016 badass road bike build? UGG! that's enough. I am one blabby SOB. Please forgive me for being a fence walker. Regards,

Matt

Between 2 and 3k? Have you tried pricing out anything yet? I'm thinking your budget will drive a lot of your purchase decisions.

Absolutely. I spent most of the weekend pricing and researching Chinese and Taiwanese frames vs American made frame mfg. Actually if I go with a bottom dollar Ti frame whether it be a road or cross build (and the BUILD is really what I'm after here) plus the Ultegra group those 2 alone will ring up to be between $1500 and 2K.
