Wheel upgrade

Does anyone have experience with bontrager paradigm elite wheels? I can't find any reviews about.

I do not, but when I looked up those wheels, they are for road bikes with rim brakes and 130mm rear axle spacing, while your 8.3 DS has disc brakes and 135mm spacing. So they would not even work on your bike. That aside, I am not a fan of straight pull spokes and low spoke counts. If you are racing, maybe such things are fine, but for wheels I would use daily, I would rather have durability and serviceability over low weight, cool looks, and fragility.

If you want lighter and faster, get some different tires.

I forgot to mention I now have a domane 5.2

I don't, but I've been looking at them also. Same problem in that there's not much talk on the web about them that I've been able to find.

For me, they would be an upgrade to the Bontrager Race wheels that came with my bike. I believe they would both have the same spoke count (24rear, 18 front). The Race wheels are 23mm outer, and 17.5mm inner width and weigh 1720g. The paradigm elites, on the other hand, weigh 1464g and are 25mm outer, 19.5mm inner. (I've been using conti GP4000sII 25mm tires) So... a bit less weight and a bit wider for 'only' ~$1000. I don't think I want carbon wheels, so I was looking at these instead.

My lbs said they would be significant upgrade. I don't see the aura 5's on treks page anymore. It looks like the paradigm s are the best they offer short of carbon. Trek also has a 30 day return if you're not satisfied.

Thru the dealer that return policy is more assured.
