Best Brooks saddle for fat people
So I've always used Brooks B17's, and loved them. But recently I gave up on life and got fat. Now I get shooting pains in my feet and legs when I ride too long. I'm thinking this is because of pinched nerves from saddle pressure, but that's just a guess. Any other fatties here find a Brooks model that worked well for them? I was thinking maybe a Brooks B67...or maybe something even larger? Will it help?
My style of riding lately is just paved trails, casual pace. I like mountain biking as well, but I'm probably going to try to lose weight before I pick that up again. Don't want to taco any rims.

Actually, looking at the B190 now. Other than it having the old-style post mount, it might be perfect for me. There's an adapter on Amazon that seems to allow the B190 to mount on a modern seat post: https://www.amazon.com/Breezer-Doubl.../dp/B001GSSFEI

The B190 is the most comfortable saddle you'll ever put your butt on but it's BIG so you'll have to decide if it will work for your style of riding and bike. I have the B67 on my city bike and it's comfortable. I had a B190 on my Townie and before will be adding one to my new one. FYI, that adapter works well.

The bike in question is a Trek 7.5FX that I've modded with drop bars and a rack, and mostly turned into a touring bike. The B190 may look out of place on it, not sure. But if it's significantly more comfortable than the B67, then I'll go with it. I just want the shooting pain gone so I can do some long rides again.

Also keep in mind that with that Breezer sandwich, it will only work with a one bolt seatpost design.
Unless you are above 350lbs, I would recommend you go with the B67, keeping in mind that what I said about the B190 also largely applies to the B67.
If you were under 300lbs, I would look very hard at the Brooks Flyer.

Or the B17 Imperial. I'm definitely fat. Due to surgery, I'm off the bike on the road until next Tuesday at the earliest, but I started on a trainer so as to break in my butt, and the saddle seems comfortable from the get go.

Yeah, I'm under 300lbs, but I definitely wanted to try something wider than my B17's. I just ordered a B67 aged version, because it was cheaper than the other B67's and I can get it in time to ride this weekend. I'll see how it does and go from there. I'd kind of like to just drop $1000 on about 5 or 6 different models and try them all, but that's not really an option now.
If the B67 width helps, I'll probably end up trying the B190 eventually, too. I'm not sure about that B17 Imperial...it's the same width as the regular B17, and I don't know if that cut out would really make much difference. If the extra width of the B67 doesn't help, I may give it a try, though.
I had a Brooks flyer a long time ago, and I remember liking it, but then I was in much better shape back then and my regular B17's felt fine, too.
My seat height is pretty much even with my handle bars.

I love my old B5N. I'm over 200 lbs and it fits my sit bones like a glove. I don't know how important it is to consider the meat on the seat as where the sit bones rest.
